How to Choose a Stamp Maker in Lahore

What separates a stamp that lasts years from one that fails in months — and the questions worth asking before you hand over your text.

Stamps look like a commodity. They are not. The difference between a good stamp and a bad one shows up months later, when the body cracks or the impression starts smudging. Here is what to look at before you order.

The body matters more than the rubber

Almost anyone can cut rubber. The part that fails is the mechanism.

Original imported Trodat and Shiny bodies are engineered for tens of thousands of impressions. The springs hold, the pad reseats correctly, and the plastic does not crack. Cheap copies look identical on day one and start jamming within months of daily use.

Ask which body is being used. If the answer is vague, that tells you something.

Getting the text right is where most stamps fail

The most common problem we see is not quality. It is a stamp that was made exactly as ordered, and the order was wrong.

A good stamp maker reads your text back to you before cutting. On anything with a registration number — a PMDC number for a doctor, an enrolment number for an advocate, an NTN for a company — that check is not optional. A stamp with a wrong digit is scrap.

Always ask for a digital proof and actually read it. Read it twice on numbers.

Questions worth asking

  • Which stamp body do you use, and is it imported or local?
  • Will I see a proof before you cut it?
  • Is the design charged separately, or included?
  • Can the ink pad be replaced when it runs out?
  • If the text is wrong because of your error, will you remake it?

The last one is a useful test. A shop confident in its proofing process will say yes without hesitating.

Red flags

  • No proof offered. If they will not show you the layout before cutting, mistakes become your problem.
  • A price that is far below everyone else. Usually a local body sold as imported.
  • Vagueness about turnaround. "Come tomorrow" repeatedly is a scheduling problem you will keep paying for.
  • No physical address. For a business you may need to return to, a shop you can walk into matters.

Location is worth more than people think

Not because you cannot order online — you can, and most of our orders arrive on WhatsApp. It matters because when something needs fixing, being able to walk in and sort it out in ten minutes beats a week of messages.

Our outlet is on Main PIA Road, which is minutes from Faisal Town, Johar Town, and Model Town, and reachable from most of Lahore.

What a fair price looks like

A simple wooden-handle rubber stamp starts around 500 rupees. A self-inking machine stamp with an imported body runs 1,200 to 1,500. Embossing seals start around 12,000 because the dies are metal.

If someone quotes far under that for an imported self-inking stamp, they are either using a local body or cutting corners elsewhere. Our full price list is published, which is itself a reasonable thing to expect from a stamp maker.

The short version

Ask what body they use, insist on a proof, check the numbers yourself, and prefer somewhere you can walk into. Those four things eliminate almost every bad outcome.
